Why choose a Side Hinged Garage Door

Benefits of Side Hinged Garage Doors

Side hinged garage doors are a popular choice because they are versatile and affordable, whilst offering greater security and functionality. The garage doors can be independently opened to permit a car to enter or leave the garage and the other can remain closed and thus private, for example.

Moreover, these doors maximise your usable interior space due to their hinges opening towards the exterior.

Customer Reviews

Job was carried out promptly and professionally, we are very pleased with our new garage door.

– Michael Tingle

Highly recommended. Can’t fault the advice, flexibility, attention to detail – that combined with a very competitive quote made this whole experience something I haven’t experienced or a long time. Thank you.

– Daryl Carver

Excellent experience. The installer arrived on time and did a very thorough and satisfactory job. He also took the trouble to make sure we were aware of all aspects of using the door. It was a pleasure to deal with him and we are entirely satisfied.

– Carol Stewart

Southern Doors recently replaced our Hormann powered garage door with a new and updated version. Southern Doors weee a pleasure to deal with throughout this project and we are delighted with the material and installation quality of the new door. The installer was very experienced and performed the task to remove the old door and fit the new one without assistance. He had clearly dine it many times before. He was very knowledgeable about the product, very exacting in his standards throughout the install, and was a very clean and tidy worker. The old door and all associated infrastructure were removed from site along with the packaging materials in which the new door system arrived. Commissioning was faultless and I received a comprehensive tutoring session demonstrating the features of the door before the installer departed. All in all he was probably on site for around 4.5 hours. Great service all round. Well done Southern Doors

FAQs about side hinged garage doors

Side hinged garage doors are available in a variety of materials including timber, steel (galvanised factory finished in a range of colours), aluminium (finished in a range of colours), composite insulated core or GRP (a wood effect with a maintenance free finish).

What’s the difference between single skin doors and double skin doors?

Side hinged garage doors are available in single or double skin options.
